The day rate is the contract
Rates in the open, escrow in the middle, nobody chasing invoices at midnight.
Every rate band in the roster is printed next to the work it pays for. That is deliberate. A rate you have to ask for is a negotiation; a rate you can read is a decision you make alone, before a single email.
A published rate is not a price tag. It is a boundary with a signature on it.
When you hold dates, payment moves into escrow — not to the photographer, not back to you. It sits where both parties can see it, like a print in the fix. Delivery approved, funds release. Delivery disputed, the desk reads the contract, not the vibes.
This is the least romantic page in the folio, on purpose. The romance is in the plates. The escrow note is what lets everyone go make them.
