Photograffiti

№ 05 — About

The masthead

Photograffiti is a marketplace for fashion photography, run like a working magazine. Photographers publish contact sheets. Models keep comp cards current. Agencies and brands scan both, circle their selects, and hold real dates at published rates — with payment in escrow until the delivery is approved. No pitching, no rate roulette, no chasing invoices.

It is also a community in the older sense: a roster that reviews each other's work, a journal that writes down how the work actually gets made, and a weekly edit of frames worth arguing about. 10 photographers and 10 models across 12 cities, Toronto most of all.

Who it serves

Photographers

A portfolio that works like a booking page. Publish plates and a rate band, mark the dates you are open, and let the work argue for itself. Verified record — response time, completed shoots, reviews — stamped in the margin, not invented in a bio.

Models & talent

A comp card that is always current: numbers on hairlines, prints from real shoots, your agency one line below your name. When a photographer's shoot appears on your card, both of you get found by the same search.

Agencies & brands

Scan contact sheets the way an editor would — under a loupe, not through a pitch deck. Match a photographer to the talent already in their frames, hold both for the same dates, and let escrow carry the risk.

How a match happens

  1. 01

    Scan the sheets

Browse the roster and the model board. Filters by specialty and city; frames, plates, and comp cards do the talking.

  2. 02

    Hold the dates

Rates are printed next to the work. Pick the open window from the date book, state usage and deliverables, and hold it — the hold lasts 48 hours.

  3. 03

    Escrow does the rest

Payment sits in escrow from acceptance to approval. Delivery approved, funds release. Disputed, the desk reads the contract. Nobody works exposed.
